ABOUT

FEED MY POOR

Our Story.

Feed My Poor began as a response to the economic toll of the pandemic and the increased displacement of Angelenos. Founded by Fr. Ed Benioff, pastor at Church of the Good Shepherd and native Angeleno, Fr. Ed was inspired by Jesus’s command to feed those that are the most forgotten and neglected in society.

What started as a ministry at Church of the Good Shepherd, grew into a community effort, that is now in the process of becoming a 501(c)(3). Volunteers from different faith communities came together to respond to the crisis. Thanks to the generous volunteers and donors, Feed My Poor has been able to lease a food truck to provide even better nutrition to the homeless population. Food is delivered and served every day across Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Westwood, Hollywood, Downtown LA, Skid Row, and Mid-Wilshire.

It costs $2 to provide a meal for someone in need. Please consider donating to our cause so that we can continue providing fresh and healthy meals to our city’s most vulnerable. One meal can make a difference in someone’s life, because one meal is hope and strength for a better tomorrow.
